Happy Halloween!

Today is one of my favorite fall holidays! The leaves are falling and winter is in the air!
We're holding our annual Halloween party and we've got a number of friends coming over for a little goblin food, fun, and festivities!

Will (Cad Bane - Star Wars Clone Wars) and Rhett (Woody - Toy Story) are excited and looking forward to day and night filled with trick-or-treating, fun, and friends!

Happy Halloween......we hope you have a wonderful and safe day!

Ethan, Will's buddy since Kindergarten, is
moving to Colorado. We do not want them to
move but we totally understand! (we have been in
their shoes before) We had to have one last sleepover
before they move away from us. Ethan, Lukas and Will
had such a fun time. Jace was out of town or he would have
joined his friends. The boys had pizza, ghost brownies, carved
pumpkins, roasted pumpkin seeds, made smores and played!

Enjoying each other!

Having fun outside!

Carving pumpkins...the boys drew what they wanted
their pumpkin to look like first. Then started scooping
all the insides out. They did really well cleaning it all out.
We even roasted the seeds from their pumpkins...Lukas' recipe.

Will really did not like all the goo on his hands, but
he got it done...I tried to help each boy get their pumpkin
cleaned out. They had a great time just talking about how
they were going to carve their pumpkin.

Rhett had fun running around, playing basketball
and trying to help the boys.

Ethan took a break and showed us some of his
dancing moves.

I wish you could see their jack~o~lanterns better.
They are really good!

Rhett enjoyed the graham crackers.

Ethan enjoyed the smores!
What a fun time they had!

will get caught up someday. This is a pic from

Breaking News

Usually breaking news is about something that
has happened to Will...but not this time.
This time it is about Rhett.
Yesterday was a sad day for Mama and Rhett.
We said goodbye to paci. When Rhett woke
up, I decided to cut paci and put a Toy Story
band aid on it. That way I could tell Rhett that
paci had a bo bo. (I remember Dana doing this with
Austin's pa...I think.) He did much, much better than
I thought he would. He asked and cried some for paci
but not too much. He slept through the night without it.
Yea, for Rhett! But for Mama that means my baby is growing up!

Here is paci with the band aid. Keep in mind that we still have
foofee....we can't get rid of both at the same time.

This is the last pic I have of Rhett with his paci.
(at the Chicago Marathon)

I have been thinking about doing this for a couple of weeks.
I just needed to have a block of time to work on it. I did not
want to get rid of paci when we had to be in the car for a long time.
We needed paci this past weekend for our trip to Chicago. Our next
road trip will be after Christmas, when we travel back home. I
think we will be good to go by then. (maybe even potty trained too)
This little boy is growing up way too fast!! I have to keep enjoying
my time with him because I know it is going to fly by. He will be
in kindergarten before I know it. We have really enjoyed you, Paci!!
Bye, Bye!

Marathon Celebration ~ Party

Everyone had so much fun with Christa and Bethany
celebrating their upcoming Chicago Marathon Run!

Ashley and I decorated the tables with flowers in
shoe boxes and everything had a red/white theme.
This year the 10~10~10 Chicago logo is in red
and that was some inspiration for us!

mats to wish them luck

another table with the red/white theme

We served homemade lasagna, salad and french bread.
And some yummy gelato for dessert!

Christa and Bethany

Me and Ashley
We had so much fun planning this celebration!
Thanks Ashley!

Bethany will be moving soon....I sure am going
to miss my friend!

I can't wait for Sunday, 10~10~10! We will be traveling
to Chicago to see both Bethany and Christa run
the Chicago Marathon. Also, Mimi and Pop will be in town
so they will be joining us. Pop has never been to
Chicago so this will be an experience for him.
Did I mention....there are 45,000 runners running the
marathon! (maybe we should not let Pop know that)
